VERA BEREN

POST SOUND MIXER

Vera Beren is a native New Yorker born in Milan of Puerto Rican, Italian, Austrian and Russian heritage, brought up by semi bohemian creative parents on European film, Bach, Brel, Ballet, Theatre and Opera. At the age of 17 she started her own band, "die Hausfrauen", innocently rejecting her opera, ballet and acting training, signing to an indie label for a few minutes, recording and touring before its demise, which then allowed bits and pieces of her previous loves to return and merge. Indulging in anything having to do with voice, music, sound, recording, theatre, film and video in every aspect, in front and behind the scenes since, she has found that mixing audio for film allows her to use many of these skills in one sitting. She has been managing big NY recording studios since the 80s and is proud to have been at John Kilgore Sound & Recording since 2003 where her love for manipulating audio has truly emerged and has been supported.
